Review: Hollow Earth - We Are Not Humanity

Written By Unknown on Sunday, April 15, 2012 | 4:54 AM

Hoping to restore what they believe has been missing in hardcore, Hollow Earth are breaking into the music scene, head strong with ‘We Are Not Humanity’, set to be released on the 17th of April, 2012.

What began in late 2010 as an idea between friends  Mike Moynihan (Guitar) Steve Muczynski (Vocals) and Aaron Goodrich (Drums) while on tour with the band Shai Hulud, led to the conception of Hollow Earth almost a year later. The boys from Detroit, Michigan had a vision to make music with unrelentingly sincere lyrics. And keeping their word, two months after the band was formed and Giandiletti (Guitar) and Jake Hicks (Bass) were recruited to complete the line up, ‘We Are Not Humanity’ was recorded with the Getaway Group in Massachusetts with Jay Maas (Verse, Shipwreck).

This is an album that hardcore fans will dig.The intro creates a perfect build-up that picks up the pace with ‘On the Bounty of the Gods.’ I find myself particularly taken with songs like 'There Will Come Soft Rains' and 'On The Precipice' with their premonitory and empowering lyrics with the perfect energy and vibe pulsating through the music. The album also reflects the band's musical influences, drawn from bands like Turmoil and Buried Alive.

Set to be released through Panic Records on CD, Vinyl and Digital formats, 'We Are Not Humanity,' is the band's first EP and portrays an assuring picture of what Hollow Earth is all about and that they are here to stay.

Reclaiming their belief, and with a strong voice, sound and vibe, these guys will be hitting the scene with full throttle.
