Review: Misser - Every Day I Tell Myself I'm Going To Be A Better Person

Consisting of Tim Landers of Transit and Brad Visema of This Time Next Year, Misser are definitely worth checking out. This thirteen track LP is the follow-up to the duo’s 2011 three song EP Problems, Problems, Problems., and is available digitally on Rise now, with a physical release later this summer.

The first track offers a pretty relaxed opening, though the extra voices in the background give it a slightly haunting feel. The second song – Time Capsules – kicks off with a punk-rock feel. It’s catchy and energetic in all the right places.
Just Say It is a fast-paced, anthem-type song, easy to sing along with. I’m Really Starting to Hope The World Ends in 2012 sticks in your head, bringing the full critical energy of punk and targeting at the media. Then, with track eight, you have the soft, slow Stay Asleep, a nice change from the fast-paced predecessors. In fact, the album contains a nice mix of fast and slow, and each slow song almost offers a chance to chill, to recover before diving into another fast one. The balance works brilliantly.

Overall, it’s a great album, containing the kind of raw energy that makes punk-rock great.
